The American far-right isn't known for fawning over the French any more than the French are known for fawning over the American right. Nonetheless, in criticizing President Obama's response to the earthquake in Haiti, French journalists seem to have found themselves an improbable new friend: Rush Limbaugh.

In Le Monde's Corine Lesnes cites Limbaugh in a heap of criticism to the American response in Haiti, saying Limbaugh "accused [the president] of courting the African American community at a moment when they feel abandoned by their 'post-racial' president." Le Figaro's Yves Thréard is similarly skeptical of the American president's motives: "Each engagement hides intentions. Barack Obama, low in the polls, criticized for his foreign policy, is seizing the opportunity to restore his image."
