Wonky liberal MSNBC host Rachel Maddow got thumped
by Jon Stewart--along with Rush Limbaugh and Pat Robertson--for playing politics so soon after the Haiti disaster. (Maddow's bit had focused on the "good job" USAID was doing in Haiti despite chronic underfunding and Republican attacks.)
Maddow responded to Jon Stewart's critique with a compliment--"I love me some Jon Stewart"--but refused to apologize for the bit. Instead, she doubled down, showering USAID with yet-more bureaucratic adoration.
