Morning Vid: Maddow Tweaks the URL of New Orleans's Web Site

Alex Eichler Jun 7, 2010
New Orleans is a city with problems. One of the lesser remarked-upon problems is the URL of the city's official Web site: CityofNO.com. With its unfortunate echo of "Party of No," the URL seems like it might belie the can-do spirit of this embattled city. But MSNBC's Rachel Maddow is doing something about it. In the clip below, Maddow explains that she's registered a couple of Web addresses that "the truly great city of New Orleans" can use instead: CityofYes.us and CityofHellNo.com.

Nor is that all: A response statement recently came from the office of New Orleans mayor Mitch Landrieu. Said the statement, "We thank Rachel Maddow for her kind offer... we only wish she would have bought CityofHeckYeah.com or EatMoreOysters.com or GetYourOilOffOurCoast.com, and we might have taken her up on her generous offer." So Maddow went ahead and bought two of those too.
