Infographic: iPad 2 Sales Booming on eBay

The iPad 2 buying frenzy continues. Though Apple hasn't released its offical sales data, the online auction site eBay has. In the first two weeks, nearly 12,000 iPad 2s were sold on the site with 35 percent of the sales going to international buyers. Buyers were paying through the nose for the tablet computer, with average selling prices between $200 to $400 over the retail price. That squares with the numbers we were seeing during the debut weekend of the iPad 2 when we scanned eBay's listings of completed sales. At that time, 16GB $499 iPad 2s were selling for nearly $800. The auction site put out a nice infographic breaking down the national origin of the buyers and which iPad versions were sold:
