Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss have decided to stop suing Facebook and will settle for the $65-million the social network has already offered them. The former Olympic rowers and the third partner, Divya Narenda, will not pursue an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a ruling that upholds the settlement reached in 2008. In San Francisco appeals court filing, they said in a court filing that after "careful consideration" they will pursue the case no further. Their ultimate concession contradicts their stated commitment to appeal to the nation's highest court of the same U.S. Appeals Court in San Francisco court refused to hear their case in mid-May.

Facebook told The New York Times in a statement: "We’ve considered this case closed for a long time, and we're pleased to see the other party now agrees."

We can't help but wonder if Tyler will update his Twitter profile to reflect the end of the twins' pursuit.
