Today the tech world anticipated Amazon would reveal its answer to the iPad: The Amazon Kindle Fire. Before Amazon even had a chance to reveal the highly anticipated tablet, Bloomberg News broke the news before the official presentation, reporting that Amazon would offer a the Kindle Fire for just $199. 

The Kindle Fire doesn’t have an embedded camera or a microphone. The device offers Wi-Fi connectivity, though not 3G access, and comes with a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime, the company’s $79-a-year membership service that includes streaming video and free two-day shipping.

Besides the price, the Kindle Fire will look as expected. Beyond the Kindle Fire tablet, Amazon has also revealed three new e-reader-only Kindles: a very cheap $79 Kindle and a new model, the Kindle Touch, which will cost $99 and $149 for a model with 3G wireless. Gizmodo has live coverage. 

Update 10:36 a.m.: After some talk about Prime, Amazon finally revealed the Kindle Fire. As rumored, it will have a 7-inch display. Amazon's also offering up all its content on the Fire with free cloud storage. Unlimited cloud storage means no synching, unlike that other tablet you might be interested in. 

Amazon also introduced a new browser: Amazon Silk. 

And Amazon has confirmed the $199 price. It will ship November 15, as anticipated, just in time for the holiday rush.
