Apple named Arthur Levinson, the CEO of biotech firm Genetech and a current board member for the computer maker, as its new non-executive board chairman. It also added Disney CEO Bob Iger to the board to fill the seat left by Steve Jobs, reports TechCrunch. That news is a little fun given that Jobs's parting advice to his successor Tim Cook was to avoid becoming another Disney. Jobs was actually telling Cook not to repeat Disney's bad habit of constantly wondering what the deceased Walt Disney would do after his death, so he wasn't really addressing anything Iger did at the company. And in fact Jobs and Iger were pretty close and Jobs sat on Disney's board himsef, notes The Wall Street Journal. Levinson has been on the board since 2000.
