If at first you don't succeed, try again in a couple of weeks. An iPhone app for Gmail is available again for download. Let's hope it's now bug-free. Two weeks ago, for about one hour, iPhone users were able to download a Gmail app complete with a screwy notifications. "The iOS app we launched today contained a bug with notifications. We have pulled the app to fix the problem. Sorry we messed up," tweeted the developers. Another developer elaborated to The Washington Post the problem was "a bug which broke notifications and caused users to see an error message when first opening the app."  On Google's blog today, Matthew Izatt, a product manager, writes, "We’ve fixed the bug and notifications are now working, and the app is back in the App Store." If you happen to have snagged the buggy app before it was pulled, you will need to uninstall or log out of the old app before using the presumably fixed version.
