If Anonymous learned anything in 2011, it ought to be this: the government takes it very seriously when people break into its secret networks, and so does KISS. The Associated Press reports on the latest hacker-related arrest:

A Connecticut man affiliated with the Anonymous hacking group was arrested Tuesday on federal charges for an attack on a website belonging to Kiss bassist Gene Simmons, authorities said. … Poe was indicted in Los Angeles on two counts: conspiracy and unauthorized impairment of a protected computer. If convicted of both, he faces up to 15 years in prison.

Yes, said hacker faces up to 15 years for a denial-of-service (DDoS) attack on www.GeneSimmons.com. This is over six months after the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other police around the world hauled in 21 Anonymous affiliates, many of whom had orchestrated some serious security breaches. Turns out the United States law enforcement agencies are very sensitive about pranks played on its intelligence agencies as well as its rock and roll heroes. So far, not even Anoymous's top Twitter account is rising to defend this KISS-hater.
