Go Daddy's CEO has confirmed that the internet did in fact follow through on its promise to stop using the popular domain registrar site, with many moving their domains elsewhere after the company's initial support for the Stop Online Piracy Act. Fueled by users of Reddit, many on the internet supported "Move Your Domain Day" even though Go Daddy has since retracted its support for the controversial bill. Even before Thursday, web analytics blogs showed that there was mass exodus from Go Daddy. Go Daddy’s CEO Warren Adelman released this statement Thursday: “We have observed a spike in domain name transfers, which are running above normal rates and which we attribute to Go Daddy’s prior support for SOPA, which was reversed." And he reminds us "Go Daddy opposes SOPA because the legislation has not fulfilled its basic requirement to build a consensus among stake-holders in the technology and Internet communities." Behold the fury of Reddit at work! Watch yo'self Rep. Paul Ryan
