Update (2:46 p.m. EDT): SpaceX finally tweeted the first clear image of the capsule in the water, which we've posted above.

Original: The first private mission to the International Space Station is over, and roundly hailed as a success, as the SpaceX Dragon capsule splashed down in the Pacific Ocean off Baja at 11:42 a.m. EDT. NASA's live feed reports the unmanned capsule is floating off the Mexican coast, where a team has just reached it and detached the parachutes.

SpaceX founder Elon Musk tweets that they used Orion P3 submarine-hunting aircraft to find the capsule, then chased it down with speedboats. Unfortunately, the Orion's onboard camera isn't providing great footage of the recovery, but NASA's airing it all the same. Follow along on the live feed, and check back here for updates.
