The jury has handed Google a major win in its case with Oracle over whether the search giant violated patents by using some of Oracle's code for its Android apps, The Next Web reports.
Earlier this moth we noted that when the jury only came to a partial verdict, the case had real non-geek implications because obtaining copyright permissions for the kind of code Google was using would slow innovation. Call it "copyrighting the Cloud." Google must be relieved after what sounded like a very prolonged and confusing jury deliberation process in a clash between tech titans.
