Rich Kids of Instagram got lots of people talking about about self-presentation and socioeconomic status on social media. One commenter agreed with Rebecca Greenfield's take on the issue. sanatty writes:

All Instagram users and, to a lesser extent, all other users of social media who participate in the "show and tell" aspect of those platforms, are simply in it to showcase their supposed uninqueness/talent/etc. The difference between tweeting photos of you and friends at a dive bar drinking $1 you-call-its vs. tweeting a pic of you and your friends drinking a $4000 bottle of champs is but one of degrees. 

Well put. Also, if Barflies of Instagram isn't already a Tumblr, someone should create it, stat.
