Yahoo CEO Search Just Got a Lot Easier

After this morning's news that Yahoo had narrowed down its CEO search to interim CEO Ross Levinsohn and Hulu Chief Executive Jason Kilar, a Hulu spokesperson says Kilar is out, leaving Yahoo's choice for CEO pretty clear. "As has been reported, Jason Kilar has been a focus of the Yahoo CEO search committee. He has graciously declined to be considered," a Hulu spokesperson wrote (here quoted by Business Insider's Owen Thomas).

Meaning, Levinsohn it is? From the sounds of it, he was getting pretty cozy in the position he took over from Scott Thompson anyway. From The Wall Street Journal's Amir Efrati: "Yahoo's board has given 48-year-old Mr. Levinsohn, a former executive at News Corp.'s Fox Interactive Media group and the HBO network, some leeway to build his own executive team and revive a strategy he began implementing last year around focusing on online advertising on Yahoo's websites." With him in charge for real, we imagine he'll continue pushing that and his other media-centric strategies we learned about when he took the interim gig.
