Today, Rebecca Greenfield showed why cable companies should be less worried about cord-cutters than cord-nevers, those who've never had a cable hook-up and don't plan on ever paying for one. One commenter noted that, even though his parents have cable, he watches most TV on his computer. Jason Andrew Shifter lays out the logic for why he'd never buy a cable subscription himself:
I can't imagine ever paying for expensive cable packages, especially when they have ads in between throughout. In the world I've grown up in, ads make the content free, then once you pay they disappear.
Cable companies, he's got a point.
