The Obama administration gave up their fight to keep age limits on sales of over-the-counter emergency contraception pill Plan B on Monday
The single-pill version of the so-called "morning-after pill" (aka Plan B One-Step) won't be available to girls over the counter quite yet, but the two-pill variant could be available for all "immediately." Depending on what the drug stores — and the Obama administration — have to say about the latest ruling.
After an hour delay so Speaker of the House John Boehner could try and whip up more Republicans votes to get his Plan B vote through Congress, the Speaker's saving grace bill didn't even go to a vote. And Boehner, like Elvis, left the building.
Until recently, both the National Institute of Health and the Mayo Clinic, two respected and oft-Googled sites listed what science now considers misinformation regarding emergency contraception.
